A taste of home, made for York

Madam Ly began with a simple idea: to share the food we grew up with. Not a diluted version, not a fusion — the real thing. The flavours that filled the streets of Saigon and Hanoi, the bánh mì that fuelled morning commutes, the rice plates that gathered whole families around a table at the end of a long day.

From Vietnam to York

Our kitchen is in York, but our recipes travel much further. Each dish carries with it the memory of a grandmother's hands, the scent of lemongrass simmering slowly on a stove, the crunch of a freshly baked baguette split open at a pavement stall. We make everything from scratch — our pickles, our sauces, our marinades — using ingredients sourced as close to the originals as we can find.

Every bánh mì at Madam Ly is built to order: pate-spread baguette, layers of Vietnamese hams, grilled pork, or char siu, tucked in with fresh herbs, tangy housemade pickles, and a slick of mayo. Available in 7-inch or 10-inch, and always made with love.
